The Northland Infant and Children's Clothing Center Kansas City (NICC KC) has been serving infants and young children in our area since 2004.

We provide clothing and diapers (in partnership with Happy Bottoms) for size newborn through 5T.

We are open every Wednesday from 2-4 pm and the 4th Saturday of the month from 10am-noon.

Bumble Beginnings

The NICC KC (originally known as Northland Infant Clothing Center) was the passion project of Vickie Asbury, a parishioner at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Her understanding of the challenges families have to provide clothing led to the creation of this ministry in the former rectory behind the church. In the early days, it occupied only one room.

Pollinating our Community to Bloom

Over the past 20+ years, this tiny bud has gradually become a community garden of love and care. Thanks to the dedication of our worker bees led by three different directors, we now provide diapers and partner with Children's Mercy Health System's program Sleep Safe Babies, which provides education and pack and plays to prevent sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). We have also grown to take over the entire space of the former rectory!

Other exciting partnerships that we have fostered in the past 5 years include: Project Dash, Van Subaru for the Share the Love event, Fitti's Espresso, and Rhea Lana Consignment.

Each year for the last few years, we have helped clothe over 2,000 infants and children in the Kansas City metro area.

An Un-bee-lieve-able New Chapter

Come grow with us! Finding new and innovative ways to meet the needs of our patrons as a reliable source of support is a priority. We have Facebook and a new website to engage those who want to help and those who would benefit from our services. We value our community partnerships and want to ensure we are around for decades to come.

We have been steadily growing and 2026 marked several milestones for the NICC KC:

We are now a 501(c)3 organization
We have partnered with Happy Bottoms to guarantee each child in the program gets 75 diapers a month
We have remodeled our "hive" to maximize space and resources
We launched our name, new logo, and website
